Spirals
duo violin,
2017.
“Spirals” is a piece that mostly uses the Fibonacci spirals and other symmetrical & non-symmetrical spirals applied on rhythm, frequency, timbre, and dynamics. The making of Spirals was also inspired by the notion of the traditional Javanese siter tuning in which two strings representing a note are tuned closely with an only approximate distance of smaller than a quarter tone.
This piece is dedicated to Duo Gelland, violinists Cecilia and Martin Gelland.
